Feed Zone Chick - The Collected Works:
Almost as soon as we took possession of The Racing Post, we looked for writers
who would reflect our enthusiasm for the events and the people involved in
bicycle racing in Texas. Previously a columnist called Feed Zone Chick had
provided race reports from the standpoint of those who provide the racers with
nutritional and emotional support during the event. Lauren and I contacted her
and asked if she’d continue ... but we wanted more than just event write-ups.
We wanted more of the human side of having a relationship with a bicycle
enthusiast - a racer. What we have received over the years transcends what we
expected.
Feed Zone Chick has given us Our Story, that is those of us who love to ride
and love to ride fast, from the perspective of an interested and involved
participant. There is distance, yet, really, is there? She is just as much a
part of the event as the rider. She understands us at our best and at our ...
not so best. But, we always know that she loves a racer.
We have included those stories by FZC (as she is known around The Racing Post)
that display the passion, humor, frustrations and insight at her best. Let’s all
hope this relationship with both her Racer (The Husband nee Boyfriend) and The
Racing Post continue.
The book is 80 pages long and will be mailed to you upon the reciept of your
order. The book itself is $15 complete, including BikeReg fee and postage to
your location. If you desire it sent to somewhere besides your official BikeReg
home address ... send us a note quickly - we fill orders daily

Everyone envisions their ideal life. Realizing that vision, though,
is where the challenge lies. Often the life we pine for is a far
cry in the distance to that actually led as we continually make
compromises merely to survive.
Changing Gears could easily be about a musician, actor, or single parent
faced with a lifestyle decision. Do they give up, and lead the life
others want for them, or stay true to themselves, even if it means disappointing
those who depend on them? Hollinger explores what happens when we
stand up for ourselves. The outcome is downright disturbing, but
the resolve is ever so sweet.
